The majority of our candle collection is made from 100% pure stearin, a plant-based material derived from palm oil. Our stearin comes from controlled and RSPO-certified, organic, non-genetically modified farming. Scented and decorative candles are produced from organic rapeseed wax from Germany or soy wax from America.

The Optimal Candle for Every Occasion:

AMABIENTE Object Candles for a beautiful ambiance. When buying candles, it is advisable to consider the intended use (the expected burning time of the candle). For short burn times, choose a candle with a smaller diameter, and for occasions where the candle should burn for several hours, opt for a larger candle.

Taper Candles:
AMABIENTE designates the collections CLASSIC (square candle), RONDO (round candle with a 22mm diameter), and AMA (delicate double cone) as taper candle lines. These candles, available in all 49 colors, come with a diverse selection of matching table and floor candle holders.

Object Candles:
Larger candles and unique shapes are available with one or more candle holders. The candle and holder together create a complete object.

Scented Candles:
Specially composed room fragrances from AMABIENTE are available in two scented candle collections. They gently and subtly perfume the air.

Outdoor Candles:
Candles specially designed for outdoor use, suitable for indoor spaces as well (e.g., conservatories).

Materials:
AMABIENTE candles are made from sustainably grown stearin. The preferred material used by AMABIENTE is a biodegradable natural product obtained from palm oil, a naturally renewable and sustainably cultivated raw material. The stearin we use comes from ecologically controlled and certified, non-genetically modified sources (RSPO standard). Stearin candles have a pleasant scent, are particularly drip-resistant, and mostly soot-free. Stearin is harder and more stable than other wax types, allowing for greater flexibility in shaping. Stearin candles are safe for allergy and asthma sufferers. The fragrance collections primarily use organic rapeseed wax and other plant-based waxes, which have higher viscosity and a lower melting point.

More Types of Wax:
- Paraffin: Used for most household candles, obtained from petroleum as a byproduct of oil refining.
- Beeswax: A rare natural product with high elasticity, a subtle honey scent, and the characteristic beeswax color.

AMABIENTE Uses High-Quality Pigment Colors:
The renowned color palette of 49 finely tuned shades is made from pigment colors due to the high standards of color stability and lightfastness. Pigment colors have minimal bleeding and do not fade as quickly as fat-soluble colors. They are tested for safety, and most AMABIENTE candles are through-colored.

AMABIENTE Uses Fragrances from France:
The perfumes used in our collections are carefully selected and thoroughly tested. The scents consist of natural aromas with approximately 20% essential oils.

How Are AMABIENTE Candles Made?
AMABIENTE candles are handmade through the pouring method: Liquid wax is poured into molds with a wick in the center. This is 100% manual work.

Other Candle Production Methods:
- Dipping: Wrapping a wick strand around two large drums, passing it through a wax bath, and adding a wax layer with each pass.
- Pressing: Candles are pressed with a stamp or extruder.
- Dipping/Dunking: The wick is repeatedly immersed in and withdrawn from liquid wax.

Care and Storage:

Candle Care: The beautiful textures and brilliant colors are best showcased when candles are regularly polished with a nylon stocking, microfiber, or Supra cloth.

Candle Holder Care: Remove wax residues with warm water. Wash with non-abrasive detergent and dry thoroughly. Do not put aluminum holders in the dishwasher. Wipe leather and wooden stands with a soft cloth.

Removing Wax Stains: Place blotting paper on the stained area and iron with a hot iron until the wax is absorbed.

Storage: Candles should be stored color-sorted, in a cool, dry place, lying flat. They have an indefinite shelf life, but color can change due to light exposure.

Candle Burning:

- Never leave candles unattended.
- Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
- Always use appropriate candle holders.
- Do not place candles near another heat source.
- Place candles at least a double distance from their own diameter to avoid drafts. A candle can only burn evenly and soot-free in the absence of air movement.

Wick Length: AMABIENTE candles generally do not require trimming, as the wicks are optimally matched. However, for larger objects and strongly conical candles, trimming the wick may be necessary to prevent a too large flame and the quick release of wax (e.g., CALLA, SCULPTURA).

Location: Candles should always stand on a level, horizontal surface. Avoid placing them near heat sources like heaters, ovens, TVs, or direct sunlight, as this can negatively affect the burn.

Lighting and Extinguishing Candles:

- Straighten the wick before the first lighting.
- Extinguish the flame by blowing it out or using a snuffer or candle snuffer.
- Burning Duration: All AMABIENTE candles have a long burning duration, depending on the candle's size, wax type, candle diameter, and wick thickness. Stearin candles have a long burning duration with a large, beautiful flame. However, the consumer also affects the burning time. Following all rules for optimal burning will yield the specified times (e.g., KUBUS candles 80 hours, RONDO 14 hours, etc.). To achieve a perfect burn, the candle should burn at least until the melt pool covers the entire candle's diameter.

Candles with a Larger Diameter: Let the candle burn until the entire melt pool is filled with liquid wax and the candle has burned down by about 1 cm. Do not extinguish the flame too early, as it will cause the candle to burn hollow and go out. However, the candle should not burn for too long either. Once the melt pool becomes too large and too much liquid wax is present, there is a risk of wax spillage. Never leave candles unattended.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

Why do candles occasionally drip? External factors such as a warm room, nearby heat sources (heating, sun, multiple candles close together), or drafts (tilted windows) can cause candles to drip.

Why do some candles sputter or crackle? This can only happen if the wick has absorbed water. Clean, dry storage is essential to prevent this. Why do larger object candles often leave a residue?
